PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong believes that Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Amizar Abu Adam is the most qualified candidate to become the next Pelangai assemblyman. Dr Wee, who is the president of MCA, stated that Amizar, who is also a member of Umno’s committee, is a local Felda Chemomoi boy in the Pelangai constituency. Furthermore, Amizar holds a Master’s degree in Management and Strategic Leadership from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), according to Dr Wee. In a Facebook post, Dr Wee urged the voters to support Barisan and give them the mandate in the upcoming elections on Oct 7, with early voting on Oct 3. He expressed his confidence in Amizar’s suitability for the position.
On Saturday (Sept 23) morning, Dr Wee accompanied Amizar to the nomination centre. The event was attended by Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Pahang Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, and other Barisan central and Pahang state leaders.
Datuk Seri Johari Harun, 53, who previously held the Pelangai seat, passed away in the Elmina plane crash in Shah Alam, Selangor on Aug 17. As a result, the seat became vacant.
