Reports out of George Town confirm that one person has died and two others have been rescued after a building under construction collapsed in Bayan Lepas.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 9:58pm after receiving reports of the incident. The initial assessment by the Fire and Rescue Department indicated that at least nine workers were trapped under the rubble.
Search and rescue operations are still ongoing at this time.
An individual has been tragically confirmed dead after a construction site collapse in Bayan Lepas, George Town. Two other injured individuals have been successfully rescued from the scene.
At approximately 9:58pm, emergency responders and rescuers were quickly dispatched to the location following reports of the incident. Initial information from the Fire and Rescue Department suggested that at least nine workers were trapped beneath the debris.
Efforts to search for and rescue any remaining individuals are currently continuing.
