GEORGE TOWN: The unity government is set to unveil the Penang unity manifesto on Aug 1 at the Butterworth Arena, showcasing its 40 candidates for the 15th state election, according to Chow Kon Yeow.
The Penang DAP chairman stated that the manifesto would incorporate policies based on input from both Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional, demonstrating a cohesive front.
“In this term, we will also address any unfinished matters from the previous manifesto and continue to work towards achieving our goals,” he said during a press conference at Wisma DAP on July 29.
Chow, who is currently the Chief Minister, highlighted that this would be the first time the state’s manifesto would be introduced as a unity manifesto, with the candidates being presented as unity candidates following the alliance between Pakatan and Barisan.
“This is special because there has been no previous collaboration between the two coalitions. This manifesto displays the cooperation between Pakatan and Barisan in the upcoming election,” he explained.
Chow also announced that a Madani roadshow would be held in Penang on Aug 5.
The campaign will feature the participation of leaders from the unity government, including Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. – Bernama
