The Communication Minister Fahmi Fadzil stated that the people have a right to know how the RM700mil expenditure on advertising and publicity by the previous two governments was spent. Fahmi made the statement on X, emphasizing the importance of transparency in such a significant expenditure.
He stressed that it is essential for the public to know whether the RM700mil was allocated and spent properly or if there were any legal violations involved in the process.
Media reports indicated that the federal government allocated nearly RM700mil to be spent on advertising, promotion, and publicity to disseminate the government’s agenda over the course of 2020 to 2022. These substantial expenses were incurred by the previous two administrations to promote the government’s achievements and efforts, according to Bernama.
