PETALING JAYA: The Perak MCA divisions showed strong support for the party’s state reunion dinner, despite it being the last weekend before Chinese New Year celebrations. MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong expressed his gratitude for their commitment and willingness to attend the dinner as a big family, putting aside their festive season preparations.
Dr Wee took the opportunity to address several current issues during his Chinese New Year speech to 500 members from all divisions in Perak. He emphasized the importance of checks and balances in a democratic system, highlighting the need for elected representatives to act in the best interests of the people and the nation based on facts.
Among the prominent figures present at the event were MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, vice-presidents Datuk Lawrence Low and Datuk Tan Teik Cheng, National Organising Secretary Leaw Kok Chan, central committee members Dr. Monna Ong, Datuk Ooi Jing Ting, Leong Kok Wee, Chenderiang assemblyman Choong Shin Heng, Ting Zhao Song, Saw Yee Fung, MCA Speaker Datuk Yik Phooi Hong, division chairmen, Youth and Wanita central committee members, and Perak SLC committee members.
