    Perak police detain two mat rempit for dangerous stunts on NSE

    IPOH: Police have arrested two motorcyclists who were seen performing the ‘Superman’ stunt on the North-South Expressway.

    Perak police chief comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the two suspects were arrested at two locations in Tanjung Tualang, Batu Gajah at 11am on Monday (July 24).

    “Dashcam footage was uploaded on Facebook on Monday showing several bikers doing the stunt.

    “Based on our investigations, the person who took the footage was heading to Ipoh from Tanjung Malim when he recorded the suspects at 1.47pm on Sunday (July 23),” he said.

    Comm Mohd Yusri said using information gathered, police headed to two separate locations and arrested the suspects.

    “The suspects, aged 21 and 19, admitted they were the ones in the videos and were arrested,” he said, adding that both did not have prior criminal records.

    Police in Perak have apprehended two motorcyclists who were caught performing the dangerous ‘Superman’ stunt on the North-South Expressway. The suspects, aged 21 and 19, were arrested at separate locations in Tanjung Tualang, Batu Gajah on Monday morning. The arrests were made based on dashcam footage which had been uploaded on Facebook showing several bikers executing the hazardous maneuver.

    According to Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, the person who recorded the footage was traveling from Tanjung Malim to Ipoh when they captured the suspects in action at 1.47pm on Sunday. Comm Mohd Yusri stated that the police conducted investigations to gather information and subsequently located and arrested the two individuals.

    During questioning, the suspects admitted to being the individuals seen in the videos. Both individuals had no prior criminal records. The dangerous ‘Superman’ stunt involves motorcyclists lying flat on their bike with arms extended out in front of them, imitating the flying posture of the comic book superhero.

    The incident has raised concerns about road safety and the reckless behavior of some motorcyclists. Performing stunts on public roads poses a serious threat not only to the individuals involved but also to other road users. Authorities continue to stress the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations, urging motorcyclists to prioritize their safety and that of others.

    The viral dashcam footage and subsequent arrests serve as a reminder that dangerous and illegal activities on the roads will not be tolerated. The police are actively monitoring and taking action against those who engage in such behavior. Motorcyclists are urged to exercise caution and responsibility while on the roads to prevent accidents and protect lives.
