KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Youth has revealed its own National Day logo as it feels that the national logo is not inclusive enough, says PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
The Perikatan National Day logo of three open laptops that form a hibiscus flower bears the theme “Teguh Muafakat, Malaysia Sejahtera (Strong Unity, Prosperous Malaysia)”.
He said that the Madani concept in the logo and theme of the National Day campaign by the unity government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim does not explain which “madani” it is.
On May 27, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil unveiled the logo to be used nationally with the theme “Malaysia Madani: Tekad Perpaduan Penuhi Harapan (Malaysia Madani: The Commitment of Unity Fulfils Hope)”.
Speaking to the media on Saturday (Aug 19) at the PAS headquarters here, Abdul Hadi said Perikatan decided to have its own logo to show that it is committed to an independent Malaysia and not race-centred.
“Our logo and theme takes on the realistic goals which we are fighting for, which is to build a strong and sturdy nation based on integrity.
“The theme of ‘Teguh Muafakat, Malaysia Sejahtera’ intends to raise awareness of the need to achieve true independence and get rid of the colonial elements of division,” said Abdul Hadi.
“Madani is a good word but it has been used by Putrajaya throughout the election campaign in the last state polls,” said Perikatan Youth information chief and PAS Youth head Ahmad Fadhli Shaari (pic).
He also said that the four states under Perikatan rule – Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu – have yet to decide to use the Perikatan logo for their national day celebrations.
Putrajaya will be holding National Day celebrations in Sarawak this year on Aug 31.
Perikatan Youth has unveiled its own National Day logo, claiming that the current national logo is not inclusive enough, according to PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang. The Perikatan National Day logo features three open laptops formed in the shape of a hibiscus flower, with the theme “Teguh Muafakat, Malaysia Sejahtera” (Strong Unity, Prosperous Malaysia). Hadi argues that the Madani concept in the current logo and theme of the National Day campaign led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s unity government does not clarify which “madani” it represents. Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil had previously introduced the national logo on May 27, with the theme “Malaysia Madani: Tekad Perpaduan Penuhi Harapan” (Malaysia Madani: The Commitment of Unity Fulfills Hope).
Speaking to the media at the PAS headquarters in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (Aug 19), Abdul Hadi explained that Perikatan decided to create its own logo to demonstrate its commitment to an independent Malaysia that is not focused on any particular race. He stated, “Our logo and theme encompass the realistic goals we strive for, which is to build a strong and sturdy nation based on integrity.” The theme “Teguh Muafakat, Malaysia Sejahtera” aims to raise awareness about the need for true independence and the elimination of elements that perpetuate division from the colonial era, Hadi added.
Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, Perikatan Youth information chief and PAS Youth head, supported Hadi’s comments, stating, “Madani is a good word, but it has been used by Putrajaya throughout the election campaign in the last state polls.” He also mentioned that the four states under Perikatan rule, namely Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu, have not yet decided whether to adopt the Perikatan logo for their respective national day celebrations.
This year, Putrajaya will be hosting the National Day celebrations in Sarawak on August 31.
