Datuk Munirah Abdul Hamid, the founder of NGO Pertiwi Soup Kitchen and a prominent human rights activist, passed away in the early hours of Monday morning, according to a statement released by Pertiwi Soup Kitchen. The organization expressed deep sorrow over her passing and said that more details about her funeral arrangements would be provided later.
Pertiwi Soup Kitchen has been widely recognized for its longstanding food distribution program, which caters to the homeless and urban poor in Kuala Lumpur. The program has been running for over fifty years.
