    Petrol kiosk worker dies due to health issue, not being shot, says Taiping cop

    IPOH: The petrol kiosk worker who was claimed to have been shot dead at a petrol station

    in Taiping in a viralled message had hit her head on the ground after fainting.

    Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Nasir Ismail said the woman fainted due to a health issue.

    “She hit her head after she fell, which left her with a bloodied head. “The woman was sent to a hospital for treatment,” he said in a statement on Sunday (Sept 22).

    Earlier Sunday, it was reported that a message claiming that a shooting at a Taiping petrol station had gone viral.

    Perak police chief Comm Datuk Azizi Mat Aris, when contacted, denied the incident.

    ACP Mohamad Nasir said the police detected a picture of the woman lying face down on the ground on Friday (Sept 20).

    He said an investigation revealed the incident occurred in Batu 2½ in Simpang.

    “The police would like to advise the people not to make speculations that could cause anxiety to the public.

    “Spreading of fake information is an offence under Section 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act

    Those found guilty can be jailed up to two years or fined or both,” he said.
