Located in Kuala Selangor, the central zone Madani Rakyat programme has caught the attention of visitors with its array of booths selling various items, particularly food, at affordable prices. Additionally, the booths set up by different ministries and agencies offering their respective services have also drawn interest from the public.

This three-day event is taking place at the Kuala Selangor Sports Complex until Sunday. A survey conducted by Bernama at the venue revealed that the staff from the ministries and agencies are actively engaging with visitors who inquire about the services available, with many families turning up at the event.

One attendee named Hadila Ibrahim, age 39, shared that despite working in the civil service, she lacked knowledge about government initiatives. Thus, she decided to attend the Madani Rakyat programme with her husband to gather more information. They specifically sought explanations from the Sumbangan Rahmah team after facing challenges in applying for government aid.

“We have previously received assistance from the Selangor government only. Through this programme, I can explore other aids provided by the government,” said Hadila.

Another participant, a 47-year-old private sector employer named Fazlina, utilized the opportunity to inquire about the child adoption process at the booth of the Social Welfare Department. She expressed gratitude for being able to directly ask about the necessary steps and documents for adoption without having to visit the ministry’s office.

“My family and I now have a better understanding of government ministries and agencies, including their roles and services, thanks to this programme,” Fazlina added.

Entrepreneur Mazian Nawawai, also 47 years old, found out about the Madani Rakyat programme during a business trip to Kuala Selangor. Intrigued by the activities organized by the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, she even signed up as a volunteer with hopes of assisting in case of emergencies like floods in her area.

The event, which started on Friday, focuses on themes related to agriculture, food security, Technical Education and Vocational Training (TVET), and general well-being. Various federal and state government departments and agencies are offering their services at the programme, enhancing public awareness of their functions and contributions.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to conclude the Central Zone Madani Rakyat Programme on Sunday afternoon, marking the end of this engaging and informative event. – Bernama
