BENTONG: Voters in Pelangai have been advised against voting for an elected representative who creates a “distance” between the area and the government in the upcoming state by-election.
Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin emphasized the importance of choosing a state assemblyman who has strong connections with both the state and federal governments. This is crucial to ensure the smooth execution of programs and policies aimed at enhancing the living standards of the community.
Mohamed Khaled further highlighted the geographical remoteness of Pelangai, which is located far from the state administrative centre in Kuantan and Putrajaya, the federal administrative capital. He urged voters not to worsen this distance by selecting a representative who might further alienate Pelangai from the government.
Bernama reported that Mohamed Khaled, who is also the Higher Education Minister, shared these remarks during a meeting with reporters after attending the Pahang Semarak Siswa Madani program at Dataran Simpang Pelangai yesterday.
Expressing confidence in Barisan’s campaign, Mohamed Khaled anticipated that BN will retain the Pelangai seat. He cited the positive response from the people as a reason for his optimism.
