KOTA KINABALU: A 26-year-old woman was fatally injured in a multiple-vehicle accident on Tuesday (Aug 22) at a section of Jalan Lintas in Kota Kinabalu.
The woman’s body was extracted from a Perodua Bezza by firefighters and she was pronounced dead at the accident site by a medical officer.
The Fire and Rescue Department received a report at 6.06pm about a collision involving multiple vehicles in the Lintas Square area.
“The collision involved two lorries and five cars, including a Perodua Bezza, a Perodua Myvi, a Toyota Vios, a Proton Saga, and a Proton Iriz,” stated a spokesperson for the department.
The remains of the victim have been handed over to the police for further investigation. The operation concluded at 7.56pm,” the spokesperson added.
In a separate incident in Ranau, three cars at a primary school area were damaged by a fallen tree, although all nine individuals in the vehicles escaped unharmed.
“The incident involving a Perodua Kancil, a Proton Saga, and a Perodua Axia at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pekan 1, Ranau was reported at 5.56pm,” said the department spokesperson.
The team dispatched to the location used a chainsaw to clear the debris and moved it to a safe place. The operation ended at 7.18pm,” the spokesperson stated.
