PKR Information Chief Fahmi Fadzil stressed the importance of staying connected to the people now that PKR is part of the government, with a new responsibility to those looking for change.
Fahmi noted that this year’s annual national congress was the first to be held at a comfortable venue, describing the experience as surreal yet mature and enlightening.
He emphasized the need for the PKR leadership to remember that being part of Putrajaya does not mean they can simply enjoy the spoils of victory, but rather have a duty to address the expectations of the people.
According to Fahmi, the first anniversary of administration marked a significant victory for the unity government, representing a level of political stability that had not been seen in recent years.
Speaking to reporters after the conclusion of the PKR national congress, Fahmi highlighted the party’s strategy of defying the odds and striving toward goals, even when they are deemed impossible by analysts.
Recalling the 25-year journey to reach Putrajaya, Fahmi expressed confidence in the party’s ability to prove the naysayers wrong.
He also stressed the need for PKR leaders to maintain focus and not be swayed by negativity, while also taking into account criticisms from grassroots members to ensure that all voices are heard.
The PKR national congress, which took place from Saturday (Nov 25) to Sunday (Nov 26), concluded with a speech by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as party president.
