The wreckage of the Beechcraft 390 (Premier 1) airplane that crashed along the Guthrie Corridor Expressway has been removed by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB).
Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, the Selangor police chief, stated that the AAIB took the wreckage for further investigation on Monday (Aug 21) evening.
“They cleared the scene by 7pm. The road where the plane crashed has also been repaved by local authorities and all lanes are now open to traffic along Persiaran Elmina.
“As the wreckage has been removed, we have also called our personnel to stand down from monitoring the area,” he informed reporters on Tuesday (Aug 22).
A preliminary investigation report into the plane crash that occurred on Thursday (Aug 17) will be prepared within 30 days from the date of the incident, according to reports.
The AAIB team, based on Annex 13 – Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, has initiated a technical investigation, as stated by the Transport Ministry.
The aim of the investigation is to determine the cause of the accident, with a focus on saving lives and preventing similar incidents in the future.
The ministry emphasized that the investigation is not intended to assign blame or liability.
