KUALA LUMPUR: V Sivakumar, the Human Resources Minister, has stated that four families affected by the plane crash along the Guthrie Corridor Expressway near Persiaran Elmina have not yet received financial aid. According to Sivakumar, the Social Security Organisation (Socso) has approached the families but they are still grieving and not ready to cooperate. He mentioned that Socso respects the families’ wishes and will monitor the situation. Whenever the families are ready, Socso will provide them with the eligible financial aid. This was announced during a press conference at Wisma Perkeso on Tuesday (Aug 22).

These beneficiaries were entitled to death benefits of up to RM2,000 each as well as survivors’ pension payments. Socso has already made death benefit payments to the families of three victims who provided initial information. However, the payments for the four remaining victims are still pending.
