The process of removing the wreckage and debris of the crashed Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1) plane on the Guthrie Highway near Bandar Elmina in Shah Alam, Malaysia, was successfully completed on Monday, August 21, according to Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan. He stated that the crash site will be cleared by Monday night, and all police controls at the location will be ceased. A truck carrying the debris and wreckage of the plane was seen leaving the crash site at around 7pm. Despite the cloudy weather and intermittent rain, the operation was not hindered. While the road involved in the crash will be cleared, it remains closed at present. The yellow tape installed at the location by the police has been removed, as reported by Bernama.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan noted earlier that bodies of the victims would be released that day. The Ministry of Transport announced that the preliminary report on the accident will be prepared within 30 days. The Air Accident Investigation Bureau (BSKU) started a technical investigation based on Annex 13 of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO Annex 13) on the same day the accident occurred. The crash happened on the Guthrie Highway near Bandar Elmina when a Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1) plane was en route from Langkawi to Subang and had been authorized to land at 2:48pm. The crash resulted in the deaths of 10 individuals, including Datuk Seri Johari Harun, the Pahang Local Government, Housing, Environment and Green Technology Committee chairman. Among the victims were six passengers and two crew members on the plane, in addition to a motorcyclist and a car driver who were passing by the accident site.
