PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) is implementing various proactive measures to ensure the smooth operation of highways and toll plazas, especially during peak hours in Ramadan. The company announced on Saturday (March 9) that these measures include ensuring all entrance and exit lanes at the toll plazas are fully operational. They will also provide mobile toll payment reader aids and support aids at their toll plazas.
All maintenance work at the toll plaza will only be conducted until 4:30 pm to avoid any disruptions to the flow of traffic. PLUS will increase the number of front-line staff at the toll plaza and assign a technical assistance team to be on standby as well. The company also assures the public that all facilities in the rest and treatment (R&R) area will be fully operational to accommodate the high demand during peak hours for breaking fast during Ramadan.
Highway users are advised by PLUS to ensure that their Touch ‘n Go card or eWallet (for RFID users) always has sufficient balance before starting their journey. This will help avoid any inconvenience and facilitate the journey of other users when passing through the toll plaza. PLUS states that based on data and traffic movement patterns from last year’s Ramadan, the peak hour is between 5 pm and 6 pm on every working day, with the highest number of vehicles.
Therefore, the company recommends that all highway users plan their journey and avoid traveling during peak hours for a more comfortable experience. Users are also encouraged to download the PLUS Application to make it easier to plan their journey and receive the latest traffic information on the highway. Alternatively, they can follow the latest traffic reports through the X @PLUSTrafik Application, PUTRI Chatbot, the country’s main radio channels, and electronic signage (VMS) at selected locations.
In case of emergencies, highway users can contact PLUSLine at 1-800-88-0000 for assistance. They can also utilize the Waze or Google Maps App for a better travel plan. PLUS is dedicated to ensuring a smooth journey for all highway users during the Ramadan period. – Bernama
