MARANG: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has requested Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil and gas company, to consider investing in Kemaman, Terengganu. He disclosed that Aramco’s chairman, Yasir O. Al-Rumayyan, had indicated their interest in establishing their regional expansion headquarters in Johor.
Nevertheless, Anwar proposed that Kemaman would be a more suitable location for them to invest in. He made this statement during the Terengganu Madani Unity Tour ceramah programme in Wakaf Tapai on Wednesday (Aug 9) night.
Anwar further revealed that during the recent haj pilgrimage, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud had informed Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah that Saudi Arabia approved Malaysia as its largest investment hub in Southeast Asia.
“I want to emphasize that this achievement is not solely because of Anwar Ibrahim, but rather the result of the cooperation among different political parties such as Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional, Sabah, and Sarawak. They recognize the stability of our current government,” Anwar acknowledged.
In addition, Anwar expressed his gratitude and admiration towards the late Tan Sri Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat and the late Datuk Fadzil Noor for their exemplary leadership. He commended them for their dedication to serving the people and promoting unity.
