KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Amran Kamarudin, the late Padang Besar PKR branch chief who passed away due to a heart ailment. PM Anwar, who is also the president of PKR, took to Facebook to express his prayers for the departed soul. He emphasized that Amran’s contributions and sacrifices to Keadilan in Perlis will always be remembered. In the 15th General Election, Amran, 59, contested as the Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Mata Ayer state seat in Perlis but lost in the three-cornered fight. Speaking on this tragic incident, PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, who also serves as the Home Minister, echoed PM Anwar’s sentiments and offered his condolences to Amran’s family through a heartfelt Facebook post. Amran, who breathed his last at his home in Kangar at 11.10pm, was laid to rest at the Tok Paduka Muslim cemetery in Kangar. May his soul rest in peace.
