KUALA LUMPUR: The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has expressed his optimism that the Bumiputera Economic Congress (BEC) 2024 will lead to a transformation in strengthening and reforming the bumiputra economic development agenda. He is hopeful that the three-day congress, which commenced on Thursday (Feb 29), will serve as a platform for charting the course of bumiputra economic development.
Anwar emphasized the importance of engaging in critical discussions during the congress until Saturday (March 2) to identify new directions and approaches to revitalize efforts aimed at empowering and reforming the Bumiputera economic development agenda. He shared these sentiments in a post on his Facebook page.
During the afternoon, Anwar visited the venue of BEC 2024 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) in Putrajaya to observe the proceedings. He also took the opportunity to explore the exhibition booths set up for Bumiputera entrepreneurs, interacting with them and learning more about their ventures.
In his social media post, Anwar commended the dedication and innovative capabilities of the entrepreneurs involved in developing their products. The BEC 2024, organized by the Economy Ministry and the Rural and Regional Development Ministry in collaboration with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara), aims to establish new directions, policies, and approaches to enhance the bumiputra empowerment agenda.- Bernama
