KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim departed for New York on the evening of Tuesday, September 19th, along with his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and other members of the Malaysian delegation, to participate in the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
In a Facebook post, Anwar stated that during the meeting with world leaders, he will discuss Malaysia’s efforts in addressing the climate crisis and working towards achieving the 2030 Agenda. He will also discuss the country’s roadmap under the Malaysia Madani framework, as well as various global issues.
“Pray for the smooth progress of the Malaysian delegation’s mission, God willing,” he added.
This marks Anwar’s inaugural presence at the annual assembly, and he is scheduled to deliver Malaysia’s National Statement during the General Debate on Friday, September 22nd. – Bernama
