NEW YORK: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim attended a dinner with Malaysian diaspora and students in New York on Friday (Sept 22). He was accompanied by his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, along with about 1,000 people.
Also in attendance were Malaysian Ambassador to the United States, Datuk Nazri Aziz; Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir; Home Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail; Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti) Minister, Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz; Health Minister, Dr Zaliha Mustafa; Representative to the United Nations, Datuk Ahmad Faisal Muhamad; and several Members of Parliament and government officials.
Prior to the dinner, Anwar had delivered Malaysia’s National Statement at the 78th United Nations General Assembly. He arrived in New York on Wednesday.
According to Bernama, there are approximately 25,000 Malaysians residing in the United States.
