KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to participate in two special sessions at the Milken Institute 10th Annual Asia Summit in Singapore on Wednesday (Sept 13). The sessions, ‘A Conversation with the Prime Minister of Malaysia’ and ‘Malaysia’s Investment Outlook: A Conversation between the Prime Minister and Global Investors’, will feature discussions with leaders of global industries and investment companies.
Wisma Putra, in a statement, stated that these sessions are part of the Prime Minister’s itinerary during his working visit to Singapore, where he will be accompanied by his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. The delegation will also include Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, and relevant ministry and agency officials.
Additionally, Anwar will attend a private tea session with his Singaporean counterpart, Hsien Loong, during which they are expected to discuss both domestic and international developments.
Notably, Singapore is Malaysia’s second largest global trading partner, with bilateral trade amounting to RM390.4bil (US$83.53bil), which represents a 29.4 per cent increase from the corresponding period in 2021, where bilateral trade stood at RM301.7bil (US$64.55bil).
