LABUAN: The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has arrived in Labuan for a half-day working visit. The special aircraft carrying the Prime Minister landed at Labuan Airport at 3.55 pm on Thursday, December 7. He was accompanied by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor.
Upon arrival at the airport, the Prime Minister was greeted by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, Labuan MP Datuk Dr Suhaili Abd Rahman, Senator Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, and Labuan Corporation chief executive officer Rithuan Ismail.
Anwar’s itinerary includes a meet-and-greet session with hardcore poor households and later a Majlis Ramah Mesra at the Financial Park Convention Hall. There are also plans for the Prime Minister to attend the Labuan Executive Committee Planning Meeting and a dinner with government heads at the Labuan Dorsett Grand Hotel before leaving for Kuala Lumpur.
This visit to Labuan marks Anwar’s first since he became Prime Minister in November of the previous year. – Bernama
