KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to address a query in the Dewan Rakyat (pic) about the Malaysian government’s stance on the recent actions of the United States House of Representatives, specifically the passing of the Hamas International Financing Prevention Bill. The question was raised by Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal (PN-Machang) during Minister’s Question Time. The bill imposes restrictions on external entities that support Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement. Anwar is expected to provide his response on Tuesday (Nov 7).

In addition, Anwar is also expected to answer a question from P. Prabakaran (PH-Batu) regarding the government’s expenditure on promoting and publicizing its accomplishments through various mass media platforms from 2020 until present.

During the question and answer session, Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee (PN-Beluran) will question the Home Minister regarding the current security status of the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) and efforts to enhance asset capabilities and border security enforcement.

Aminolhuda Hassan (PH-Sri Gading) has a scheduled question for the Minister of National Unity, inquiring whether the Sedition Act and the Communication Act are sufficient in addressing issues related to race, religion, and royalty (3R), or if the government intends to introduce a new bill aimed at fostering racial harmony.

Following the Question Time, the Dewan Rakyat will proceed with the committee-level debate on the Supply Bill 2024 for the relevant ministries. The debate on the Bill at the committee level is set to last for 12 days until November 27, according to the Parliament’s calendar. The ongoing Dewan Rakyat sitting, which began on October 9, will span 32 days.
