ALOR SETAR: The death of Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub on Sunday night has deeply affected Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. In a Facebook post, Anwar expressed his personal sadness over the loss of the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, highlighting Salahuddin’s unwavering dedication to the nation. “His contributions and benevolence cannot be adequately repaid,” Anwar stated. He also described Salahuddin as a determined, trustworthy, and responsible leader. Anwar concluded his post with a heartfelt message, saying, “Rest easy, my friend.”
The prime minister also prayed for Salahuddin’s family, asking Allah to grant them patience and strength during this difficult time. Anwar also sought mercy for Salahuddin’s soul and hoped that he would find solace among the righteous.
Salahuddin, aged 61, passed away at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah, at 9.23pm on Sunday. He had undergone surgery for a brain haemorrhage on Friday.
