KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic) has sent his warmest regards to the Hindu community nationwide as they celebrate Thaipusam on Thursday (Jan 25).
In a message posted on Facebook, Anwar expressed his hope that this year’s festivities would be more joyous than ever, and enjoyed in the company of beloved family members.
“Malaysia celebrates diversity and respects everyone’s right to practice their beliefs,” stated Anwar.
“As such, I hope my friends in the Hindu community will celebrate peacefully with their families, and that this celebration will enhance their efforts, morals, values, and human spirit, making them a driving force in our beloved Malaysia,” he said.
Anwar also stated that the government would continue to work towards ensuring the nation’s safety and peace while promoting the values of diversity. – Bernama
