BENTONG: Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani has stated that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should be given the freedom to make his own decision regarding the possibility of a Cabinet reshuffle. Johari, who represents the Titiwangsa constituency, believes that this decision should be made solely by the prime minister. He compared the situation to a football match, stating that just like a coach chooses their own squad, the prime minister should have the authority to choose his cabinet members. Johari further emphasized that the team members require time to adjust and that it is important for no party to apply pressure, especially considering that the Unity Government has only been in power for 10 months. He made these remarks during a visit to the Sungai Gapoi Orang Asli settlement on Sunday (Oct 1).
The media has been speculating about a possible Cabinet reshuffle, which is expected to occur after the Pelangai by-election on Oct 7. It is anticipated that several ministers will be affected by this reshuffle. – Bernama
