In response to concerns about his absence from Parliament, PAS president and Marang MP Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang’s political secretary Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman clarified that Hadi was not missing but on medical leave.
Mohd Syahir, who is also the Bachok MP, explained that a letter along with a medical leave certificate was submitted to Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul a day before the Parliament session commenced.
He further elaborated, stating that Abdul Hadi is presently in a recovery period as advised by his physicians, which necessitates him to remain in the hospital for additional treatments.
It is crucial for Abdul Hadi to prioritize his health and adhere to the medical advice given to him, hence the decision to take medical leave from his parliamentary duties.
Mohd Syahir emphasized that Abdul Hadi’s well-being is of utmost importance, and his absence should not be misconstrued but rather understood as a necessary measure for his recovery process.
He assured that Abdul Hadi is determined to resume his parliamentary responsibilities once he has recuperated and regained his health.
Despite his absence, Abdul Hadi continues to oversee party matters and remains engaged with party members and supporters through other means of communication.
His commitment to PAS and its initiatives remains unwavering, even as he focuses on his medical treatment and recovery.
