Police in Ipoh have refuted a social media post claiming that foreigners were selling satay made from dog meat near a hypermarket in Sitiawan, near Manjung. Manjung police chief ACP Mohamed Nordin Abdullah confirmed that the post was false. Manjung City Council president Syamsul Hazeman Md Salleh also stated that there were no reports of such an incident in Manjung. He added, “I have not received any information about the incident and I am certain what was posted did not happen in Manjung.”

A social media user alleged that Myanmar and Bangladesh nationals were detained for selling satay made from dog meat near a hypermarket in Sitiawan. However, a fact-check by Bernama revealed that the incident actually took place at the Geylang Raya Bazaar in Singapore in 2017.
