Police detain mother after nine-year-old boy’s death.

The mother of a nine-year-old boy who was discovered dead in a house in Taman Panglima Assam Kumbang, Taiping, on Sunday, July 30, has been arrested by IPOH police. The 36-year-old woman was taken into custody along with her boyfriend on the same day. Initial investigations into the boy’s death have revealed signs of abuse, which is suspected to have begun in March. As a result, the case is being treated as a murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The police received an emergency call about the victim on July 30 at around 11am. Medical personnel and authorities pronounced the boy dead at the scene. Initially, the incident was classified as a sudden death. The victim, who was the second of five siblings, lived with his mother and her boyfriend, as their seven-year marriage was on the verge of a divorce.
