The top police officer in the state of Selangor has stated that allegations of police harassment made by a man against an officer based in Sepang will be thoroughly and fairly investigated. Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan acknowledged that he was aware of the allegations but stated that he could only provide detailed comments once more facts emerge. He emphasized the importance of ensuring fairness throughout the investigations. The investigation into the matter has already commenced and is being handled by the police contingent.
Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan informed reporters at the Shah Alam stadium yesterday that the investigations will be conducted in a thorough and fair manner. He also mentioned that a full statement would be issued soon regarding the case. The allegations arose after a man uploaded a video on TikTok claiming that he had been harassed by a police officer from the Sepang police headquarters. The harassment allegedly occurred following a report filed against him by a third party regarding a supposed car sale. The man further alleged that the police officer and the complainant were colluding and that crucial evidence had been destroyed. He also claimed that the officer was caught engaging in close proximity with the complainant, and he intended to report the matter to the Bukit Aman Integrity and Standard Compliance Department.
In another event, the state police chief, along with the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, kicked off a 30km bike ride earlier in the day. Both of them also participated in a 10km bike ride later on. The event also included a carnival that showcased police assets and departments, as well as displays by private vendors, featuring an antique motorcycle exhibition and a car drifting demonstration. Comm Hussein Omar Khan stated that the police intend to make this event an annual affair in conjunction with National Day celebrations, describing such programs as beneficial for community policing as they provide an opportunity for direct interaction between the public and the police. He highlighted that the public had the chance to share and receive information on various matters, including sexual crime and commercial crime, through the booths set up during the event.
