JOHOR BARU: The police are seeking a group of men involved in a car park altercation in Stulang Laut.
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat announced that they received a report about the incident at approximately 12.17am on Saturday (July 22).
“The complainant, a 48-year-old local man, stated that an unknown man had unjustly struck him.
“He sustained minor injuries on his face, head, and knees from the incident that occurred around 4pm on Friday (July 21),” he added, mentioning that the complainant was unaware of the cause of the incident.
“We are still in search of the involved suspect,” he said in a statement on Sunday (July 23).
He further explained that the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which deals with voluntarily causing hurt, and could result in a maximum one-year imprisonment, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both.
ACP Raub also urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Johor Baru South hotline at 07-218 2323 or the investigating officer Insp Gaguri Ambau at 011-5507 8517.
Prior to this, several videos of a group of men arguing in a car park were circulating on social media.
