    Police investigate report on hidden camera in Kota Kinabalu homestay

    A Chinese couple staying in a homestay room in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, filed a police report after discovering a hidden camera in a socket. The Kota Kinabalu police chief, ACP Mohd Zaidi Abdullah, stated that an investigation has been initiated under Section 509 of the Penal Code following the couple’s report on September 7, which was received at 5:27 pm. He addressed the incident in a statement on September 23, mentioning that preliminary investigations were conducted at the scene, and various items were seized. Currently, efforts are underway to identify the suspect. ACP Mohd Zaidi Abdullah also denied allegations that he requested the complainants to remove their social media post related to the case. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact DSP Khairul Shah Peri, the chief of Kota Kinabalu Police Headquarters’ Criminal Investigation Division, at 011-2669 1994, as per the statement by Bernama.
