PETALING JAYA: A police report has been filed against Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor for allegedly disrespecting Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

The report, lodged by Shah Alam PKR information chief Suryamuizzudin Kamaruddin at the Seksyen 9 police station, claims that Muhammad Sanusi undermined the Selangor Sultan during a recent Perikatan Nasional ceramah.

Suryamuizzudin highlighted that Muhammad Sanusi’s speech, widely circulated on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter, clearly disparaged the wisdom of the Selangor Sultan in appointing the Selangor Mentri Besar.

As the upcoming Aug 12 state polls approach, Suryamuizzudin emphasized the importance of refraining from using ceramah to propagate attacks, insults, or harassment towards the royal institution and the Sultan’s prerogative.

Suryamuizzudin called for immediate investigation of the matter and expressed support for the government’s efforts to address the manipulation of 3R issues (royalty, race, and religion) for political gain.

He added, “This country cannot be torn apart by divisive politics.”

A circulating video on social media shows Muhammad Sanusi belittling the appointment of Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
