KOTA KINABALU: Police are seeking public assistance to identify a body found floating at the Bum Bum Island jetty in Semporna on July 4. Semporna OCPD Supt Farhan Lee Abdullah stated that the unidentified man, in his 30s, remains unclaimed by any relative. He urged individuals with missing relatives or any relevant information to come forward and help identify the deceased man. For any assistance, they can contact Bum Bum police station chief acting Asst Supt Muhammad Ali Amat at 013-212 0852 or the Bum Bum police station at 0116-463 7271 or 0111-589 1631, or alternatively, they can reach out to their nearest police station.
Supt Farhan emphasized that foul play has been ruled out, and the case has been classified as a sudden death report. The body was recovered on September 4, after which a post-mortem examination was conducted.
