During the Good Vibes Festival on Friday (July 21), Matty Healy, the frontman of the British band The 1975, criticized Malaysia’s LGBT laws and kissed his male bandmate, Ross MacDonald, on stage during their performance.
The band’s performance at the festival grounds on Friday night was cut short following the frontman’s actions.
In response, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil expressed his disapproval, stating that the incident was disrespectful.
“This is a very disrespectful act. I have summoned the organisers to explain, and I will request a full report from the authorities,” Fahmi stated via his official Twitter account in the early hours of Saturday (July 22) morning.
