KUALA LUMPUR: Those who had come into contact with activist Siti Kasim’s vehicle will be summoned for questioning by the City police, according to the police chief, Comm Datuk Shuhaily Mohd Zain. So far, statements have been taken from 13 individuals, including her mechanic, security guards, workshop owner, and some friends. “The bomb disposal unit has analyzed the contents of the improvised explosive device found beneath her vehicle and discovered diesel, cloth, a battery, and some circuitry,” he stated during a press conference on Monday (July 31). “Further investigations revealed that the device had a switch, but it was turned off when it was found. The person who constructed the device must have possessed expertise in doing so. We are now diligently searching for new leads to identify the suspect involved,” he added.
On July 21, it was reported that a bomb was discovered under Siti Kasim’s car while it was being serviced in a workshop in Bangsar. The police bomb squad safely removed the improvised explosive device, and Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor stated that it would be sent for further analysis. Despite the threat against her, the activist-lawyer remains determined to speak out against the manipulation of religion in politics. In the face of criticism and those who wished her harm, she continued to maintain her defiant stance.
