The investigation into the alleged abuse of an Indonesian domestic helper has been sent back to the police for further action, according to the state police chief.
The victim, a 54-year-old Indonesian woman, lodged a police report on August 22, claiming abuse by a former politician and businessman.
“The investigation report has been referred to the deputy public prosecutor with specific instructions, which we are currently working on, in order to complete our investigation and proceed with charges,” said Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan on Monday (Sept 4) night.
He also stated that the investigations are being conducted under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which deals with causing harm with a weapon.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Hermono, has confirmed that the victim is currently receiving protection from the embassy.
Datuk Adam Rosly, former Ampang PKR youth chief, has denied the allegations in a statement on Monday, calling them slanderous.
He added that both he and his family have provided statements to the police and claimed that the bruises shown in photos were the result of a fight between the victim and other domestic helpers working for him.
Furthermore, he asserted that he possesses recordings that support his version of events.
