There was another blackout at the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex (BSI CIQ) in Johor Baru.
This marks the second blackout at the building in three months.
The power disruption occurred around 4.15pm and was restored by 5.15pm, according to BSI Immigration communications and corporate office unit.
A statement posted on the office’s Facebook page thanked the officers for ensuring the smooth movement of travelers.
Last December, maintenance work at the building caused a power disruption for eight hours, affecting travel between Malaysia and Singapore.
The power disruption at the Gerbang Perdana PPU substation also affected JB Sentral public transport hub and caused major traffic congestion.
Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh, the state works, transportation, infrastructure and communications committee chairman, announced that the state plans to add another power processing unit substation as a direct route for electricity supply from Tenaga Nasional (TNB) to prevent such incidents from happening again.
He also stated that once completed, BSI CIQ would have three sources of electricity supply – two direct routes from TNB and seven sets of generators.
