The Prime Minister has announced that priority will be given to upgrading health clinics and dilapidated schools in order to enhance the quality of education and healthcare facilities in the country. Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing issues related to health facilities and dilapidated schools nationwide, ensuring the well-being of the people and the provision of quality education and healthcare.
This year, the government has allocated RM1.4 billion to repair damaged roofs, toilets, and walls in schools. Anwar stressed that both the Public Works Department and the district education offices will play their roles in these efforts. He also challenged the notion that toilets in all affected schools, including those in Kedah, cannot be repaired, urging individuals to notify the district office of any schools that require upgrades or additional funding for toilet repairs.
“In the Kubang Pasu district, if there are school toilets that have not been upgraded or need more allocation, inform the district office and the district office will contact me,” said Anwar during a meet-and-greet session in Kubang Pasu. He further added, “If there’s not enough allocation, we will add and work towards solving the issue of school toilets.”
For Kedah, the government has already earmarked RM10.1 million to repair or upgrade 40 health clinics and six dilapidated schools, as stated by Anwar.
