State government officers and the public in Selangor must have a clear understanding of all the policies and programs introduced by the state. Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari highlighted that he had noticed a lack of awareness among the people regarding state programs. During a recent talk show, the hosts themselves were unaware of the First Selangor Plan (RS-1), which is a crucial comprehensive plan. This prompted Amirudin to emphasize the need for state agencies and government-linked sectors to educate the public about the programs that are designed to benefit them.
Amirudin emphasized that the state has implemented various programs to improve the well-being of the people, such as “Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor” (Bingkas), “Iltizam Selangor Sihat,” and numerous health and educational initiatives, as well as programs for the underprivileged.
Furthermore, Amirudin called for a sense of togetherness and solidarity among agencies and government officers, as it has always been the essence of our nation.
Amirudin also announced that the next lineup of local councillors in Selangor will include representatives from Barisan Nasional. This inclusion of Barisan Nasional representatives will come into effect after the current councillors’ term ends in December. Currently, there are representatives from various political parties and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) serving as councillors in local councils. In addition to NGOs, the allocation of seats will be made for ketua kampung (village chiefs). Selangor has a total of 371 ketua kampung, including those from the new villages.
Notable attendees at the event included newly sworn-in state executive councillors, mayors, council presidents, and department heads.
