PETALING JAYA: Damaging the property of non-Muslims goes against the teachings of Islam, and will defend the rights of all Malaysians, says Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal.

Wan Ahmad Fayhsal warned any extremist groups from attempting to fan the flames of division between race and religion in the country.

“We will defend the rights of all Malaysians as taught by the Prophet Muhammad SAW in accordance with Islamic Law.

“Do not go beyond the limits when reacting to an incident.

“Because it is clear that the act of burning, destroying property, regardless of who it is, including any commercial property of non-Muslims who are legal citizens in Malaysia, is clearly against the teachings of Allah and His Messenger,” he said in a statement on Saturday (March 30).

The Machang MP was responding to the second petrol bombing attack involving a KK Super Mart in Kuantan, Pahang early Saturday morning.

This is the second attack involving the convenience store this month where the first reported incident happened in Bidor, Perak but the Molotov cocktail failed to ignite.

Calls for a boycott against KK Super Mart started after one of its chain stores sold socks bearing the word, Allah began to circulate online.

On March 26, the Shah Alam Sessions Court charged KK Supermart & Superstore Sdn Bhd group founder and executive chairman Datuk Seri Dr Chai Kee Kan and his wife, Datin Seri Loh Siew Mui, with two counts of wounding the religious feelings of others over the sale of the controversial socks.
