A dance academy in Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, Penang, celebrated National Day with a group of young ballet dancers showing their enthusiasm by holding and waving the Jalur Gemilang, the Malaysian flag. The atmosphere was filled with positivity and joy.
The tradition of posing for a photograph with the Jalur Gemilang during National Day has been observed by the ALLE Academie De Danze for the past 40 years. It was started by the academy’s principal. Joey Tan, a teacher at the academy, mentioned that this year, 12 students, aged between eight and 11, gathered for a special photo shoot accompanied by the Jalur Gemilang.
Tan emphasized the significance of this tradition, explaining that it helps encourage and cultivate the children’s love and patriotism towards their country. This practice has become an integral part of the academy, fostering a deep connection with their Malaysian identity.
The dance academy’s dedication to celebrating National Day through this tradition reflects their commitment to instilling a sense of national pride and unity in the young ballet dancers. Such initiatives contribute to shaping the students’ character and values.
This annual event not only allows the children to express their love for the country, but it also brings them together as a community. The shared experience of holding and waving the Jalur Gemilang fosters a sense of camaraderie among the students.
Furthermore, this tradition highlights the importance of preserving and honoring Malaysian cultural heritage. By involving the students in such activities, the academy ensures that they not only learn and appreciate their art form but also deepen their understanding of their country’s history and culture.
The photograph taken this year serves as a reminder of the academy’s commitment to promoting patriotism and unity. It encapsulates the positive energy and love for the country displayed by the young ballet dancers and symbolizes their aspirations for a brighter future.
For the ALLE Academie De Danze, this tradition has become a cherished and valued tradition that continues to inspire and instill a deep sense of national pride in their students.
