    PU Azman ordered to enter defence on two sexual assault charges

    PU Azman, a famous preacher, has been ordered to defend himself in court against charges of physical sexual assault on a 17-year-old boy. Sessions Court judge Syafeera Mohd Said made the ruling, stating that the prosecution had established a strong case against the accused. The decision was made on Tuesday, December 26.

    This ruling comes after Azman Syah, also known as PU Azman, was charged with two counts of sexual assault. The judge stated that the prosecution had successfully proven the case against the accused. Furthermore, she ordered the accused to enter his defense.

    The ruling was read in the courtroom, and Azman Syah was given three options for his defense: testifying under oath on the witness stand, testifying from the dock, or remaining silent.

    He chose to testify under oath on the witness stand for his defense trial. Azman Syah was accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old boy at a homestay in Kampung Sungai Udang on two different occasions.

    The charges were brought under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and whipping if convicted.

    The judge then scheduled Jan 12 for a mention of the case.

    During the trial, seven prosecution witnesses were called to testify. The prosecution was represented by DPPs Nur Ayuni Jamri and Nurul Izzati Mohamad, while the accused was represented by Mohamad Zahid Ahmad.

    Azman Syah is also facing multiple charges related to sexual crimes against teenagers in various courts. This includes five charges in the Seremban Sessions Court, two in the Shah Alam Sessions Court, and single cases in a Klang Magistrate’s Court and the Ampang Sessions Court. – Bernama
