The Public Services Department has given the green light for the permanent appointment of 1,197 reserve candidates to occupy the positions of medical and pharmacy officers. Out of these vacancies, 857 are for medical officers and 340 are for pharmacists.
The Health Ministry disclosed in a statement on Monday (Jan 22) that this approval is to fill the remaining vacancies following the first phase of the placement drive where 1,508 reserve candidates commenced work on Dec 18, last year.
It was mentioned that the selected candidates had been instructed to complete the job acceptance through the Appointment Offer System (MySTP) within 21 days from Dec 29 for medical officers and Jan 3 for pharmacists.
The candidates were required to make their placement preferences between Jan 15 and 19. Any failure to adhere to this requirement could lead to the cancellation of their appointments.
The Health Ministry announced that appeals for transfer can be made from Jan 15 to 19. The decision on the appeals was scheduled to be disclosed on Jan 31 at the Semakan Kerjaya KKM portal.
The placement confirmation would be conveyed to the candidates by the Health Department of the respective states starting from Feb 12. The candidates are expected to commence work on March 4.
The ministry also emphasized that any candidates unable to commence their duties on this date can request for deferment from their new department head.
