The police in Johor Baru have given their approval for 41 campaign and ceramah permits for the Pulai Parliamentary and Simpang Jeram state seat by-elections. According to Supt Ibrahim Mat Som, who is the spokesperson for the Johor police by-election, a total of 190 applications were received between August 26 and September 1, out of which 182 permits were approved. Two investigation papers have also been opened.
In his statement on September 2, Supt Ibrahim Mat Som further elaborated that on the previous Friday, the police approved eight ceramah permits and 21 campaign permits for the Pulai constituency, while for the Simpang Jeram constituency, they approved 11 ceramah permits and one campaign permit.
Supt Ibrahim Mat Som also reminded political parties to maintain a moderate approach and show respect towards one another during their campaigns. He urged individuals with concerns about any issues to seek assistance from the nearest police station.
