The Central Agency for Application for Filming and Performance by Foreign Artistes (Puspal) expressed regret for the indecent act on stage by the British band The 1975 in Sepang on Friday (July 21).
Puspal released a statement on Saturday (July 22), stating that the group’s behavior during the Good Vibes Festival 2023 was a complete disrespect and mockery of the country’s laws and customs.
The Communications and Digital Ministry, through the Puspal committee, has filed a police report against the organizers for their negligence and failure to comply with Puspal’s guidelines.
During the application process, the organizers had assured that they would take full responsibility for the artists’ performances.
As a result, Puspal has decided to ban The 1975 from performing in the country.
“The ministry will never compromise with anyone who provokes and engages in indecent acts during their performance in Malaysia,” the statement added.
