Police in Putrajaya have identified the two victims who died in a crash involving a trailer and several vehicles, including a traffic police motorcycle. The incident occurred on Wednesday (Sept 20) at KM5.7 of Jalan Persiaran Utara heading towards Puchong. The victims have been identified as Faris Haziq Abu Bakar, a 25-year-old Pos Malaysia staff member, and Yuswar Mohd Uyus, a 39-year-old employee at the Ampang Court. Faris Haziq’s father identified him, while Yuswar’s wife identified him at the Putrajaya Hospital forensics unit around 5.30pm. The post mortem for both victims will be conducted tomorrow (Sept 21). Earlier reports mentioned eight individuals involved in the accident, but there were actually 14 individuals involved, including the two fatalities.
Two of the car drivers involved in the accident, Karli Rastio (69) and Abdul Latif Ahmad (58), sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the red zones of Putrajaya Hospital and Serdang Hospital, respectively. The trailer driver suffered minor injuries on his hands, while the others had fractured hands or were not injured. A total of 14 vehicles were involved in the collision, including a trailer, a lorry, seven cars, and five motorcycles, one of which was a traffic police motorbike. The trailer driver tested negative for drugs and will be remanded on Thursday (Sept 21) for further investigation.
Mohd Azuan Mohd Zain, an employee in the private sector, expressed his surprise when he found out that his brother-in-law, Yuswar, was involved in the accident that went viral on social media. He described Yuswar as a helpful individual who was believed to be on his way to the Palace of Justice for official matters at the time of the incident.
