A python caused a stir among students at a college’s hostel in Alor Gajah when it slithered into their room and took cover under a study table. The incident occurred on Monday (Oct 23) at 9am, as a student was getting ready for a lecture. Concerned for their safety, the student quickly left the room and contacted the Alor Gajah Civil Defence Force (APM) for assistance.
Leftenan (PA) Abdul Hadi Baharom, the APM operation, natural disaster, and logistics officer, revealed that the one-meter long python was found coiled under the table upon their arrival. The APM team successfully captured the snake, which was later released back into the wild.
The discovery of the snake prompted a brief disruption at the college hostel, causing the students to feel startled by the unexpected visitor. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of being cautious and alert even within the confines of a seemingly safe environment.
